Cormode and Dickson is currently seeking a Warehouse Shipper/Receiver in Edmonton. The position may require that the individual do occasional sitework out of town.

Forklift ticket and experience required and Overhead Crane/Rigging would be an asset. Training maybe provided for the right candidate. Other courses that are required would be: H2S, CSTS, WHMIS, TDG and Standard First Aid.

Construction Safety Officer / Carpenter

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Conduct regular safety orientations with current employees and all new hires
Conduct regular safety site inspections to ensure employees are following safety protocol, identify safety hazards and solve and prevent safety incidences.
Ensure all safety policies and necessary contact information is communicated to the employees and posted in the appropriate locations on work sites.
Attend regular monthly safety meetings, and communicate back to supervisors and managers.
Ensure work-site specific safety protocols are followed and communicated to employees
Complete incident investigations when necessary
Display and lead by example

Requirements:

2-3 years experience in the construction industry, in a safety role
3+ years in Commercial construction experience
NCSO (Construction Safety Officer ) Certification
First Aid
Strong Communication skills
Detail Orientated
Leadership skills
Interpersonal skills

Superintendent – Civil

We are a multiple-disciplined general contractor having offices in both British Columbia and Alberta and currently seeking a Civil Superintendent for our Lower Mainland office and operations. This is a full-time permanent opportunity with an excellent starting salary and benefit package.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Construction Supervision of up-to (50) man crew.

• Work directly with Project Manager to establish budgets and schedules.

• Able to assist with estimating and scheduling.

• Ability to follow drawings and specifications with excellent communication skills re site workers is essential.

• Ensuring company and project systems and procedures are properly applied throughout the project.

• Assessing and controlling scope changes.

• Direct and coordinate subcontractors.

• Compliance with appropriate jurisdictional standards regarding quality control, health and safety

• Candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment, and to build/maintain long term amicable working relationships.

• Ability to travel and manage remote locations out of the lower mainland an asset.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in civil/industrial general construction.

• Recent experience with construction trades in the BC Lower Mainland

• Knowledge of building foundations, structural systems, building related foundation/geotechnical issues, envelopes, building materials and their applications is fundamental to this position.

• A certificate in civil building technology or similar is desired but not required.

• Experience in estimating and managing construction costs.

• Experience in directing and coordinating subcontractors.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Computer skills for daily data entry.

• Preference will be given to candidates with Red Seal Certification and/or Technical Diploma.
